PEGASUS PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN OF FIRST RESPONDERS

The Health Plan has partnered with Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy to offer a program for children of First Responders.

The 2024 Program will be updated in the near future. – Look on the Home page under “Latest News”

Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy is an equine assisted activities center for children and adults with disabilities located at 8297 Bustleton Ave. The program will primarily work on introducing stress coping skills while working with Pegasus horses, along with secondary skills such as responsibility, respect, building relationships, asking for help, team work and communication.

The Health Plan is offering a variety of programs to our members’ dependent children, ages 6 – 18:

1. Children with Special Needs: this  program is designed specifically for children with special needs and has a ratio of 1 instructor for each 2 children. Dates and times of appointments are established upon enrollment. Determination of eligibility for this program is handled solely and directly by the Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy. Participation in the program is limited so we suggest you contact Pegasus, at the number or email below, as quickly as possible.

2. Children without Special Needs: The Health Plan is also offering a program for children without special needs.   There is limited space available and applicants will be accepted on a first come – first served basis.

Registration and admission into both programs are being handled solely by the Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy.
